I write way too much about cryptos & not nearly enough about blockchain. I can hear Samson Williams right now: “C’mon Mike!”
Here’s one for you: blockchain & firehouses. Let’s count the ways. As you can see from this picture, the St. Clement Tiger Scouts, Pack 3000, took a tour of the local Fire Station in Chicago today. The firefighter says to the young boys: “We wanted to volunteer to fight fires out West, but we couldn’t due to a FEMA glitch.” (I wouldn’t say the kids were following super closely, but the adults present were.) “Basically, our computers don’t talk to their computers so we can’t get insurance out west. We can volunteer in Boston and New York, and we sent some guys out after 9/11. But our systems aren’t fully integrated to allow firefighters to volunteer west of the Mississippi.”
There you go. Six firefighters died in California fires last year. They might have had some additional help from their friends out east if their “systems were integrated”. Tell me blockchain couldn’t solve this. It can.
We have a long way to go on this journey. You have to realize this revolution isn’t just about making money & buying Lambos. We’re talking about saving lives, doing incredible things for humanity, raising living standards globally. Blockchain; it’s kind of a big deal.
